I just received a waitlist offer. I had requested 1-7 extra nights to an already booked reservation. Offer is for one extra night. I want to decline and keep my waiting list priority (1), and the first agent I spoke with said that I could decline and keep my place.

Upon researching, I would like two nights minimus added instead of the 1 night offer. So I called to decline, but second agent said that if I decline I will loose my place in that WL and a new one needs to be created.

Any idea which agent is correct? Is this correct that if I decline, my waitlist does away?

Thanks!

Usually, upon declining, your wait list is gone.

Set up another waitlist for the 2 nights (assuming you have one free.) Or wait for 1st night to match, then try for 2nd night .

Thanks for confirming!

When using waitlist, I usually do two or three when first setting it up. That way when you turn one down, there are others to back up. Otherwise you go to the bottom of the pile.

Great, thanks! I luckily did that. I requested these additional days for the 2 bedroom, and created another waitlist for a 3 bedroom. I should still have the 3 bedroom at their highest priority.

Thanks again!
