That's correct. Airplanes don't make you sick, people do, therefore people on airplanes can get you sick. Here is an article for those who don't subscribe to the Washington Post https://www.actionnewsjax.com/news/tren ... UCGDKZAVA/I disagree with the conclusion. There are two lines of thought. First is that the Coronavirus is aerolized, naturally. This is not the belief of most scientists and medical professionals today, but for argument sake, let's say it is aerosol. All the worst case scenarios computer models assumed that the virus is aerosol. Since the filter is not by everyone's face, it must travel to the return air vents, possibly infecting people along the way. Second, is that droplets are what infect people and that it is not aerolized. In theory, a sneeze could project up to 10 feet away (without a mask). In 8-14 minutes, the drops will fall to the ground, or on other surfaces along the way. Airplanes' venting system is not as powerful as those in a hospital's negative pressure isolation room. Let's say it is, you would be infecting people along the way to the return vent. The droplets could land on you along the way. Let's say that it is not powerful enough, that means, the longer you are near an infected person, the more likely you will receive a viral load enough to infect you. In a non ventilated room, the thought is 15-30 minutes. The airplane is ventilated, so maybe it will gain your some time.
