Thanks Anne and Eric for putting words into my mouth.

Like benh7777, I too have worked construction my entire adult life and have seen the negative affects it has on people both short term and long. Also, the drugs lobbyists never point out the side effects of using their drug. But when push comes to shove will eventually (usually after the election) point out the increase in car accidents, job accidents, school delinquencies, increase in all drug use across the board, homelessness and its consequences, increase in domestic abuse and all other crimes.

Don't believe me? Search engine Seattle's homeless population before legalization and after. Car accidents and their cause in Washington before and after. Etc., etc. :(

There are two basic strains of the weed, Indica and Sativa. One gets you high and the other puts you to sleep.

I have friends who have used Indica for years, to sleep, lower blood pressure and lower anxiety/stress. None of them are addicts or attempted harder drugs. For these people, marijuana is not a gateway drug.

If you are prone to be a meth head, marijuana would probably be too light for you. Maybe it's not a gateway, just an option of many.

There are many prescription drugs that should not be taken around heavy machinery

Well, I have never smoked Marijuana, but I just wanted everyone to know that My Gateway Drug is Nutella! Leads to eating anything with sucrose in it and then the pounds start appearing!

I have been thinking of using medical MJ to ease my aches and pains.

Having FMS for 20 years, now feeling more pain that can affect me in so many ways. Hauling a memory foam to resorts is one of the needed solutions. Lol. I am closer to staying in my own bed and chair.

If my medical plan will allow MJ to be prescribed via my doctor, I will give it a try. She will send me to a specialist who deals with medical MJ. Don't need a high...just something to ease the constant pain. I have waited for legalization before taking or gaining knowledge before this step.

Sorry to hear that, Ann. Fibromyalgia Syndrome is no fun at all.

Talk to you Doctor about CBD. Also if you decide to go the THC Marijuana route look into edibles. Smoking marijuana has some of the same negative side effects as smoking tobacco.

I will never smoke. Edibles aren't legal yet, that is why I'm waiting.
I did check with the doc About edibles. Her concern was keeping the dosage the same, as it may vary from bite to bite... lol. I will look into the CBD products. I think the oil may work for me. We will see.
Thanks for caring. A.

There are lots of health probs worse than mine. Keep well, my friends. :D

I believe CBD oil is a great form of medicine, However be careful where you purchase it. I wouldn't recommend buying from the little shops that are selling recreational marijuana. They sell CBD because it's big money but they don't specialize in it and you don't know what you're getting, and they don't either. Look for a CBD specialty store that only sells medicinal forms of it.

Thanks. I will be seeing a specialist first, so I am sure I will be set on the right path.

I've heard that the medical CBD stuff works well on pain without danger of addiction.

There are many Cannabis stores in the Vancouver area. Your enquiry for licensing will be interesting. Seems all the illegal locations here are subject to a $100,000 fine if they still sell EpilatorAdviser
. Considering there are currently only two legal stores in the whole of Canada, there might be a bonanza of $100,000 profit for each unofficial site.
