In other breaking news, Walt Disney World announced a permanent replacement for the temporarily-suspended Extra Magic Hours, and has confirmed that EMH will not return. Dubbed Early Theme Park Entry, the new perk will allow Walt Disney World resort guests to enter any of the four theme parks 30 minutes early each day.

Unfortunately that's a big yawn from me - I like the EMH evenings the best, but even going in the morning a teensy early doesn't help all that much. It will spread it out some though, for those who will go.

When we stayed at WDW several years ago we did not make use of any of the early hours. We did make use of the late stays quite often. If you could not produce a Room Key proving you were staying at a WDW Resort/Hotel you were told to leave.

Then only advantage is the spreading out, whereas before, the one park that had early hours, usually stayed more crowded all day long.

You'd have to get there at least an hour early to be at the place where they'd let you in to use your 30 minutes. Might get to do 2 rides that were close together, assuming those rides are open. Sometimes they don't open certain rides until later in the morning.

I'm still planning to reschedule the trip we cancelled last year, but watching, waiting, hoping for WDW to lift the mask requirement.
